Initially, some students like to play at their own pace to become familiar and confident with how the game works.

Once they have built confidence and tasted success they move on to “Against the clock”. This adds a timed card spin and will really challenge them to develop rapid recall.

To derive maximum benefit from the Tackling Tables approach, equal emphasis should be placed on multiplication and division.

Before students play or test, they see their current best score so they know what they need to beat. At the end of the game students will hear a celebratory “fanfare” if a new, best score has been achieved. They can also see which answers they missed or got wrong.
